Lexington understands that the development of interactives is a highly complex, yet essential process that must weight many factors including educational intent, institutional pedagogy, aesthetics, safety, durability, ease of maintenance, and intuitive operation.
All hands-on elements are prototyped and field-tested with a variety of age groups, until they meet educational goals and stringent safety requirements. Because great interactives tend to be high-use elements, Lexington uses sophisticated construction techniques that include the most durable materials and finishes available. We know that, beyond educational outcomes, a successful visitor experience with an interactive depends upon operational durability, safety and ease of use.
Visitor evaluation and prototype testing are the heart of Lexington’s approach to creating high-quality, effective interactive exhibits. The thorough evaluation of visitor use and comprehension along with the testing of engineering, structure, styling, ergonomics, safety and durability are our highest priorities. We evaluate each interactive and then appraise potential enhancements and improvements to the design, streamlining the effective delivery of educational messages or experiences.
